Perform functions statutorily and administratively assigned to the Clerk of Circuit Courts.
These functions include but are not limited to various court record keeping and clerical duties.
Essential Duties:
Perform a variety of clerical tasks in connection with the maintenance of court records.
Accept, file, authenticate and record new eFiled cases and electronic documents into the CCAP database which has been received by the Clerk of Circuit Courts Office.
Prepare moderately complex legal documents, reports and statistical information necessitated by statutory requirement, office policy or judicial process.
Process disposition of cases in database according to established office procedures.
Prepare and distribute all post-disposition paperwork.
Schedule and send notices of hearing dates as necessitated by case or requested by judges, attorneys and pro se litigants, within statutory time limits.
Input accounts receivable amounts into computer systems, generate billing statements and reminder notices.
Prepare files and minute sheets for weekly court calendar and monitor files for next action.
Prepare, distribute, receive and record juror questionnaires, calendars and surveys.
Maintain calendar of jury trials.
Assemble jury panels, prepare juror lists for court cases, set jury phones.
Collect and distribute jury statistical information.
Prepare complex legal documents, reports and statistical information necessitated by statutory requirement, office policy or judicial process.
Assist with the preparation, assembly and monitoring of files that are appealed, as directed.
Perform record searches and assist public in researching records.
Receive and process mail.
Provide case and procedural information, in person and by telephone, within statutory guidelines.
Occasionally, as necessary, attend, take minutes, mark exhibits and administer oaths at court hearings.
Perform any other office duties that are required or may be assigned.

Qualifications:
High school education or equivalent.
Proficient in typing skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures; proficiency in the use and understanding of business terminology, and the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
Ability to exercise discretion and make decisions based on legal parameters and office policies and procedures.
Ability to utilize a personal computer system for automated record keeping, scheduling and preparation of documents.
Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, confidentiality and integrity, and utilize good judgment, tact and courtesy in dealing with all parties.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Reports to Court Services Supervisor for training, work product supervision and assignment, to Court Services Manager and/or Clerk of Circuit Courts for personnel management.
Does not supervise any other employees.
Cooperates with other employees to attain the goals of the division and department.
Position involves frequent interaction with members of the public, law enforcement and legal counsel.
Must consistently provide courteous and helpful assistance to users of the office.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
