44 an hour 15 hours ago 15 hours ago 15 hours ago Purpose and Summary Perform functions statutorily and administratively assigned to the Clerk of Circuit Courts.
These functions include but are not limited to recording minutes of court proceedings and various court record keeping and clerical duties.
Essential Duties Attend, take minutes, mark exhibits and administer oaths at court hearings.
Process disposition of cases in database according to established office procedures.
Prepare and distribute all post-disposition paperwork.
Input accounts receivable amounts into Consolidated Court Automation Program computer system, generate billing statements and reminder notices.
Perform a variety of clerical tasks in connection with the maintenance of court records.
Accept and process all electronic filed documents through the eFiling system.
Scanning and processing of paper documents into the CCAP database.
Schedule and send notices of hearing dates as necessitated by case or requested by judges, attorneys and pro se litigants, within statutory time limits.
Prepare complex legal documents, reports and statistical information necessitated by statutory requirement, office policy or judicial process.
Prepare, assemble and monitor files that are appealed.
Prepare files and minute sheets for weekly court calendar and monitor files for next action.
If necessary, prepare, distribute, receive and record juror questionnaires, calendars and surveys.
Maintain calendar of jury trials.
Assemble jury panels, prepare juror lists for court cases, and set jury phones.
Collect and distribute jury statistical information.
Perform record searches and assist public in researching records.
Receive and process mail.
Provide case and procedural information, in person and by telephone, within statutory guidelines.
Perform any other office duties that are required or may be assigned.
Qualifications High school education or equivalent.
Two or more years' experience preferred in the Clerk of Circuit Courts Office as a Court Services Assistant, Judicial Assistant, Accounting Assistant or Accounting Specialist.
Proficient in typing skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of Consolidated Court Automation Program case management software and procedures.
Comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures; proficiency in the use and understanding of business terminology, and the ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
Comprehensive knowledge of the judicial system and the ability to interpret, understand and utilize legal terminology, including the preparation of legal documents.
Ability to exercise discretion and make decisions based on legal parameters and office policies and procedures.
Ability to efficiently utilize the Consolidated Court Automation Program computer system for automated record keeping, scheduling and preparation of documents.
Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, confidentiality and integrity, and utilize good judgment, tact and courtesy in dealing with all parties.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to Court Services Supervisor for assignment of work, Court Services Manager and/or Clerk of Circuit Courts for personnel management.

Does not supervise any other employees.
May direct work of Court Services Assistant as directed by supervisor.
Cooperates with other employees to attain the goals of the division and department.
Position involves frequent interaction with members of the public, law enforcement and legal counsel.
Must consistently provide courteous and helpful assistance to users of the office.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting.
Ability to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and a combination of sitting and standing postures may be required.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on an infrequent basis.
Ability to regularly work 8 hour days and 40 hour weeks is required.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to, telephone, computer facsimile, calculator, printer, photocopier, scanner and microfilm/microfiche reader.
Risk of blood borne pathogen exposure is considered low.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
