As a Service Training Specialist with Kohler Power Systems, this is your unique opportunity to set your mark and live on the leading edge. Under the direction of the Manager - Service Training, The Service Training Specialist will design and deliver service training programs supporting the Kohler Power Systems Residential Generator product portfolio. Training programs will be conducted throughout the Midwest and West Coast area.


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
Conduct technical service training programs for Kohler distribution and dealers at designated training locations throughout the US.
Develop service-training programs for new products marketed by the Kohler Generator Division.
Monitor changes to our current product lines, and update our service training programs (Product improvements and quality modifications). Training Specialist must be able to adapt new products into the training curriculum. Product updates can include but not limited to: generator models, engines, transfer switches, or software. Must be able to learn new product functionality and from there develop PowerPoint's or lab work to aid in training.
Develop all training programs in electronic formats. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, and Word. Candidates may also be asked to aid in development of E-learning programs.
Work with our technical publications department to review technical manuals on existing and new product. Publications we review are as follows but not limited to: Operators manuals, Service manuals, Wiring diagram manuals, installation manuals, TT sheets, and Service Bulletins. Using our technical knowledge we advise the technical publications staff as to changes that should be made to the manuals and alert them to mistakes that are in current manuals.
Provide field support for warranty related issues.
Provide technical support to Kohler distribution and dealer networks.

Organizational Relationships:

Frequent contact with Engineering Dept. for new product Introductions. Work with Engineering on testing of software or new products and provide feedback on product improvement.
Frequent contact with the Technical Publications Department to review and obtain service literature. Share working knowledge with Tech lit to improve or correct documentation.

External Business Relationships:

Contact with distributors and dealers by phone and correspondence to set up field training classes.
Contact with dealers, distributors, and OEM accounts to help with service related issues.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO QUALIFY
Associates degree in Electrical/Mechanical field.
2
years experience servicing industrial generator systems or equivalent experience
Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft PowerPoint

SKILL PREFERENCES - HOW YOU CAN STAND OUT
E-learning software development skills would be beneficial.
An aptitude for teaching with strong organizational skills
